1942-1944
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Overview
Anne Frank remains one of the most important and widely read voices of the Holocaust. Her diary, written while she and her family hid from Nazi persecution in Amsterdam, has helped generations understand the human reality behind one of history’s darkest chapters.
An Early CGO Project, Reimagined
First introduced as one of CGO Studios’ early historical VR projects, this immersive Anne Frank experience continues CGO’s mission to help audiences truly Witness History. The project centers on Anne, her diary, and the world in which her story unfolded, while maintaining the care, accuracy, and sensitivity the subject requires.
Built on Historical Research
The experience has been shaped through extensive research into Anne Frank’s life, the Secret Annex, wartime Amsterdam, the Nazi rise to power, and the broader history of the Holocaust. CGO is drawing from archival materials, historical photographs, period documentation, expert guidance, and detailed visual references to carefully reconstruct the environments and historical context behind Anne’s story.
Designed for Education and Reflection
The project is being developed for future use in museums, schools, and cultural institutions as both a reflective public installation and an educational resource. In museum settings, it can serve as a quiet, guided VR experience. In classrooms, it can support Holocaust education by helping students better understand the world behind the diary.
A Platform for Remembrance
Through this project, CGO hopes to help new generations encounter Anne Frank’s story with empathy, historical clarity, and a deeper sense of responsibility.
